0 Ballad of Casey HeynesThis song is written for Casey Heynes, the Australian schoolboy who recently slammed a bully to the ground. You’re a hero, Casey. Cheers!

Watching the video of Casey body-slamming his tormentor struck a chord with me, no pun intended. Like Casey, I often ran afoul of various bullies and cliques during my school years, and like Casey, I eventually started fighting back. Imagine the terror in their eyes when the one they thought they could always get over on suddenly attacked them with all the rage and viciousness of a wild animal. It definitely wasn’t what they had expected, that’s for sure! Do I regret the violence I used and the pain I caused? Absolutely not … And neither should Casey.

So, I hope this song sends a message to all bullies out there, because not everyone is willing to remain a passive victim.

Ballad of Casey Haynes
Lyrics/music by J.P. Ribner
© 2011, Three Chords & a Dream Music

Well these kids today think they’re always right
They’re talking and picking fights
Well there’s one kid who won’t play their games
And now the whole words knows his name

[Chorus]
There’s just one thing they gotta know
Casey Heynes runs the show
He will hoist them high and slam them low
All to upset your status quo

Well these kids today got a lot of nerve
But Casey Heynes gives them what they deserve
Because he’s the kind of guy who gives until it hurts
To see the bullies get their just desserts

[Chorus]

To all you bullies out there, I hope you hear my words
And stop acting like a bunch of turds
There’s always someone willing to beat you down
Just ask the little who’s limping around

[Chorus]
